East 1992 Cafe

It's been a while since I posted something related to that one thing everyone loves -- FOOD. <3

This time, I'll be doing a review on a cafe instead. My first cafe review!

Located near Inti IU, nilai campus lies a small little cafe in a new residential area called Starz Valley. The cafe is situated right above 7-11 mart, facing the main roads, making it easy to spot the cafe. The cafe's logo is a plus sign to attract customers as the design is eye-catching.

I believe most Inti-ans would've heard of the East 1992 cafe.

I've been there twice. I felt the need to blog on this cafe each time after eating there. You'll know why later. ;D

The funny thing about this cafe is that they serve mainly western cuisines rather than eastern ones. Maybe the name of the cafe has another meaning to it.

My first time going there was upon my friends' suggestion on Vanilla's last day there at Inti for dinner. They wanted to eat something special and didn't want to walk that far to some other places. I won't mind if we have a car and drive around somewhere to eat.

But normally after classes, we just want to go to somewhere near and have dinner. Followed by rushing back to hostel and start doing our homework. (Somehow I find only students taking the Self Abuse Matriculation are constantly rushing to finish off their work and have no time to spare.) We practically had to drag our exhausted body for dinner and back.

Coming back. It was very convenient for us all having a nearby cafe.

My first impression of the cafe was that the cafe has a simple yet design to it. But this simplicity is what most people sought for these days. You get the vibe of eating at a slightly modern cafe instead of those cafe where you'll smell the aroma of coffee the first thing you step into the cafe.

I think they can consider changing the colour of the wallpaper/ paint as the colour is slighly dark. Maybe the cafe owner wanted the cafe to be a place where people could relax (with dark colour-ed wallpaper) rather than a "happy" cafe (bright and vibrant colours like yellow). Hahah. xD

Anyways, it was pretty crowded by the time we got there. That's what you'd expect having dinner at peak hours.

No complaints on this colour of the wall though!

We revised for our Chemistry exam (which was on the very next day) while waiting for the food to be served.

Being my cheapskate-self, I didn't want to order the drink because it was quite (to be frank, it's very) expensive. Regardless whether you ordered their drinks or not, they'd serve you this huge bottle of mineral water. Which is a good thing for cheapskates like me.

*Is

Haruhi's club sandwhich. She wasn't feeling well so she ordered some of these. We surely did not expect this dish to have fries. We all thought the proportion was rather small initially, but Haruhi said she was darn full after eating that. She said it tastes nice too!

Joy ordered Spaghetti carbonara and she said it was very tasty too. Too bad I forgot to snap a photo of it.

Chicken Maryland. (RM15.90 if I'm not mistaken)

It was my first time eating western cuisine, or in fact, any food not on a plat but on a chopping board-like thingy. Which was awesome. The taste was quite okay but it was a little hard for me to bite as I'm having my braces. I remembered being drop-dead full after finishing this by myself.

I told my mom about this cafe later that night and she took me there for the second time on the day she came to fetch me back home.

I tried the Fish & Chips instead the second time I went there.

Fish & Chips. (RM16.90)

JUST LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE FISH FILLET.

I really did not expect it to be that huge. AND. The main highlight of this post, the fish fillet tastes darn nice. It was the BEST fish and chips I've ever tasted in my 17 years of life (lol).

The very first bite of it sent me to food heaven.

I'm not exaggerating nor I'm paid to write this, it really tastes THAT good. Friends and family who knows me well will surely know how big of a fan am I of fish fillets. I've been to Hawaiian Steak House at Seremban and Guest Hotel back at PD and a tons more steak houses but none of it beats this.

All hail the cook.

Normally, the fish fillet itself is tasteless and you have to eat it together with thousand island sauce or with chilli or tomato sauce. But, for the first time, I actually can taste the "sweetness" of the fish fillet itself without the sauces.

I really really enjoyed the fish fillet down to the very last bite. Even my mom was telling it how nice it tasted. I do hope that they keep up the quality! Will definitely go there more often and whenever I have the time to.

The food was worth the price. (Especially the fish and chips <3 ) No complaints on that. But maybe they could try to reduce the price for the drinks a little. Some people might just wanna head over for some tea but most people would find it to be a letdown with that price. Or maybe they could try the idea of meal sets that comes along with drinks. Even though the profit is reduced but it's better than no profit at all. (Coming from customers like me who refuse to order the drinks because of the price)
Plus I think it's better that way for the long run. If I'm not mistaken, most teas such as Earl Grey Tea costs RM9.90.

Other than that, the environment is rather calm and soothing.

Not forgetting the waiter's attitude! They are super friendly and nice. They smile all the time. They displayed a really good waiter etiquette.

I'm in love with this cafe! It's definitely one of the best places around Inti IU for those who enjoy basking in serenity. If you opt to have a scrumptious dinner at a nearby place at a reasonable price, the East 1992 Cafe is the place for you.
