Things I did for the past 2 weeks (Part 1)
4/03/2015 09:08:00 PMReferring to the title, I'm here updating the bunch of stuffs I went through for the past two weeks.
It was my first time being there at Inti for the weekends. I didn't go back last week, more like I couldn't, because I had to go for my Earth Hour event on the Saturday.
Okay so I'll start writing from last last week. I went to Inti on last last Monday and came back on the same day as last last Tuesday was my JPA interview. In the morning before going to Inti, I went back to my high school to get all the craps needed fo the interview to be certified and got my Japanese government test thingy's certificate. My dad had to race down to inti as there was like only 50 minutes left before my class started and we haven't had breakfast. The highlight of the day was that I received a SMS from sensei and was told that I passed both my JLPT, N4 and N3. I was in the cafeteria that time and I was so shocked and lost of words I couldn't say anything.
Then I screamed and almost cried. I think I was (still) as happy as when I got my spm results. Or even happier. It was impossible!!! Imagine you were left with the last 10 minutes to finish your paper and you were left with around 10 questions and you didn't understand what the passage in japanese meant. And you basically just followed your instincts to fill in the remaining blank spaces. How do you expect yourself to pass in that state. Moreover I seriously didn't have much time to study for it, be it pre, during or post SPM. I wanted to just bail out, not going for the exam. But I paid RM 80 for N4 and RM100 for N3, so I went for the sake of not wasting my parents' money. I had zero confidence.Yes I did study sometimes relying only on the Japanese N3 book I bought from TaoBao. I always got 70% of the questions wrong in it.
I'm not trying to show off here okay. What is there to show off? There are people younger than me passing N3 and N2 so don't get me wrong. Just sharing my experience.
Now I'd love to type a lengthy essay about my JPA interview and share my experience with you but I can't as I have all the reports and craps due next week. So yea basically I'm slacking off again by blogging this. But my undying passion to blog is still within me. Hence, this awkward not long not short summary of the past two weeks.
It wasn't like what I read on the internet, where former seniors were interviewed individually and were asked impossible questions like "Why do you choose to go elsewhere? Is Malaysia not good enough for you?" or "If you were given a job there at other countries with a high salary, would you forfeit the job and come back to Malaysia where the pay is half or lesser than what you were offered there?"
Like seriously, is that even a question??????? So they're basically asking you to lie about how amazing our beloved country is. But if you did, they'd think you're trying to sugarcoat them. But if you DON'T, haha, chances of you getting the scholarship would be, I would say, zero.
I was hella nervous when I got there. I mean, who won't be? But I thought I'd just try my luck and to get experience from my first interview. I wasn't wearing formal clothings too. I went there and met a few people who all got better spm results than me. *drawing circles in a corner* but they are all friendly. Thought I'd meet some weridos or geeks there but none were in my group. Most of the people there chose Germany and France and only a few chose Japan and Korea. I couldn't remember their names anymore. TT but I remembered a guy named Eugene hahah xD he was a very good leader. I really look up to him. He guided us throughout the two presentations. One in BM (which I screwed up so sooo badly) and English (which I think I nailed it). I was okay during discussions but it was a different story when we had to present. TT We wished each other all the best and went seperate ways after that.
Overall, I'd say it's quite fun. Haha. xD If you ever got the chance to go, just try out your luck, with the mindset of getting to know more people and to gain experience. How many chances do you have in your lifetime to attend JPA interview anyways?
Coming back. Nothing much happened on last last wed, thurs and fri. Ohhhh. I went for Night Hunting on Friday night. Together with Vanilla, Wen Jing and Eddie.
Night Hunting is a two-day-event organized by Inti's Biz Club. Venue: The whole 4-5 storeys academic block, including outside the block in the parking lot or slightly further from there. The theme for last last year was hospital and for last year, it was a theme of ghosts from different countries. Just by watching the trailer got the chills down my spine. Damn scary. This year, compared to the last 2 years wasn't thaaat scary. But still, I screamed like mad that night.
There's a story of a doctor trying to find the vaccine to cure the virus there at Inti campus. When the doctor is almost done with the vaccine, he disappeared. Rumours say he was still there at the Inti campus. So on the first night, we were required to find clues leading to where the doctor may be hidden. By clues, they are just stickers on the walls with a logo like the running man. But there will be zombies (comittees having a very scary makeup face on them) hunting you. AND. THEY. RUN.
For the first hour we ran and I screamed like mad. Imagine walking through a silent corridor, suddenly hearing footsteps behind you or someone saying "yoohoo~" or a zombie popping out from nowhere. YOU. FREAKING. RUN.
They scared the hell out of me.
They will try to leave a stain on your shirt (explains why our shirts are white) and the more stains you have, you'll be deducted marks. I managed to get through with only 3 dots. While the others I saw had 21060 spots on them. It's very hard to see the zombies as they were wearing black. But I kinda managed to spot all those ahead of us. Being the slowest runner, that's the least I could do I guess. It was tough for us as we aren't familiar with the academic block. We didn't manage to get through the second round which was on the next day but it was okay. Overall, not bad. I give a 8/10 for the event. It was also good that we didn't get through the second round as we had the Earth Hour event on the next day. Say if we really did make it to the 2nd round, we'd had to forfeit.
Maybe I'll update the Earth Hour event in a separate blogpost. My first time being a committee of an event afterall.
I spent my last last Sunday rushing my chemistry report that was 8000 words long. Yes 8 with three 0s at the back.
I'll continue the things for last week/this week in part 2. Deal with this for the time being.
Tata gotta rush for all the reports for next week.
xoxo
