Earth Hour Event
4/30/2015 08:18:00 PMAaaaaaaaand I'm back!
Lol I feel guilty for not blogging this blog and I apologize for this super duper late update. I'm still alive, it's just that I simply could not find the time to actually blog. (No, I'm not lying, well maybe, sorta.)
I finally have 4-days break from the Self Abuse Matriculation. I'm not gonna lie, the matriculation is really taking a toll on my health. Felt feverish this morning. Not surprising coming from the streaks of sleepless nights. Many of my coursemates fell sick too. :(
I'll make it up by typing one month's worth of blog posts hehe. xp Sorry for spamming hehe xp
Sooo I'll start with the Earth Hour Event.
Earth Hour Event (28/3/2015) at Inti IU
I think I've mentioned this in the previous blogpost? I joined Social Board and became one of the program masters of the Earth Hour Event which I got to know later is a significant event for Social Board as they aimed to win a few prizes for this event.
Reasons why I joined as the program master of the event:
1) I thought it would be cool to be an event committee for the first time in my 17 years of life.
2) I did not have much tests and reports to do previously and thought I was quite free which I knew it was darn wrong only AFTER I promised to join the team.
3) Gain experience?
4) I was asked to choose between this pose and publicity team, I'm more to coming up with ideas rather that advertising stuffs so yea.
There were countless of meetings before the event and I had to admit sometimes it really gets on my nerves as I had that much of workload but I had to deal with the event. Sometimes I even felt stress due to the pressure. But it all came down to my inability of utilizing my time and my inexperience in organizing an event. I'm thankful that my seniors were very nice. I heard that some event committees cry at meetings because of the scoldings they get after doing something wrong. But maybe because almost 95% of the committees for this event were new in planning events and stuffs so the seniors weren't that harsh on us.
I thought of the game for the event but sadly the idea was shot down. Read it all here in this blogpost.
Basically, the Earth Hour Event is considered as a mini event but quite significant too. We aimed to get 100 people to attend the event. But we all got very worried when we found out that Biz club is having their second day of Night Hunting on the same day as us! TT
Truthfully, honestly, if I wasn't a committee for this event, I don't think I might even go. That proves how weak was our plans and advertising etc etc. Lol I even signed up for the first day of Night Hunting on the day before my very own event like I've mentioned in the previous post. Hahha.
Skipping to the day of the event.
28/3/2015
It was my first time being at Inti on a Saturday. I felt a little homesick too. TT
We headed to the venue early in the morning to arrange the tables and set up the stuffs and all.
Blah blah. A few performers were there earlier for rehearsal. Blah blah.
Arranged the cans and blah blah.
Ohh what do you know, it's time for the event!
(Hahaha, sorry for that, you won't wanna know every single detail I did anyways xp)
I did not do my job well. I was the one who was supposed to tell the emcee the things to do and stuffs. As there was a sudden change in our schedule and I wasn't notified from my own committees, it ended up as my seniors talking to the emcees directly without telling me. And when the emcee questioned me back, I've totally no idea about it. Also, the emcees asked me to call the next performer. It wasn't their fault. I had to run here and there. As a result, I ended being scolded for always walking and not doing my job well. They were furious.
I didn't show my expressions that time because I kept smiling so that the emcees don't panick too.
But man, lemme rant here.
To those who scolded me without knowing the whole story. Screw you.
Put yourself in my shoes will you. I know I was wrong too. I was constantly running to the other committees about the plans they had in mind and wasn't able to be with the emcee 24/7. But do you expect myself the glue to the emcee when none of you came to me and bloody tell me there's a sudden change of plan? Did you even care to notify me? You blamed me for not asking your.
Well, screw you.
Okay coming back.
The event turned out to be successful. More than a hundred people came which made us sooo happy. :D I felt all my hardwork paid off in that instance.
Overall:
I'm glad I joined as a committee. I learned a bunch of stuffs. Got to know a lot of people and laughed a lot at meetings. I'm grateful for having them for my first time being a committee of the event.
Though I know it was very contradicting to what I've said but putting that aside, the process was pretty fun. Heheh.
Photoooooooos belowwwwww~
(photos aren't in order, I got a little lazy after typing the whole mafia game. TT)
