CNY 2015!
2/28/2015 08:23:00 AM
Please stick with me till the end~ I spent the whole night blogging this. TT
So now let's do a lil rewind here shall we? To CNY eve on the 18th.
My family and I went to ah ma's (grandma from father's side) house early in the morning. We expected some of our relatives to be back. My ah ma's house is actually very near to my house. I remember back then when we were still at Kuantan, we have to travel for 5-6 hours to PD. I'd squeak in delight upon reaching. Hoping to play with all of my relatives.
Coming back.
I can't really recall what I did for the whole day on CNY eve..? What I remember is going down town to grab cendol and rojak and spending most of the time at my ah ma's house, doing nothing. Melanie was back in the afternoon and she was busy with her assignment which was creating a mini game. Some sort like step mania. We went to lukut for our reunion dinner. Here's the one and only photo from the night.
Funny how we only took one selfie when we were supposed to spam our phones hahaha xD
My hair looks gold in colour here hahah xD
I went to Starbucks with a few of my cousins after the dinner and reached home past 12. I helped my parents with the angpaos before I went to sleep.
The next dayyyyyyy.
It was Chinese New Year! :D
Day 1
In 2013, my elder cousin Soo Yi said that starting from the next year (which was 2014), everyone in the family must wear traditional clothes on Chu 1 ( first day of cny ). The guys are to wear tang zhuang and the ladies, cheongsam. This explains my ootd on that day.
But I changed my clothes in the afternoon before going to watch movie. No, hell no I'm wearing cheongsam to cinema and yes, movies on the first day on CNY. Not the way majority will celebrate cny eh. But the cinema was crowded. The movie I watched that day was "From Vegas to Macau II". It was entertaining. Some parts were super funny. :D
Photos before the movieeeeee
Soo Yi, Mel and I. We were all in red, not that you can see from the photo though.
It's actually kinda sad that the bigger or older we are, the lesser the feeling of anticipation for cny. To some, it was yet another boring day. I miss those days back when we'd play fireworks at night, chasing each other here and there, now what I see in other families is kids playing with their gadgets. I'm not jealous of them owning an iPad and iPhone to theirselves in primary school, I pity them for not knowing true happiness.
Okay, back on the track.
We went back home after the movie. The jam from the KL to Seremban highway and vice versa was horrible. Waze took us to a detour and got us on a not-so-jam route. Kudos to waze for that. We went to Kim's Seafood Palace for dinner that night.
#ootd
Allow me to brag here.
The ever gorgeous goddess.
Mel's daddy beside her.
Bejie, Mel, Me and Zhi Xuannnnn
My newborn cousie. SHE'S CHO CUTEEEE. But I think my daddy looks cuter in this hahahah xD
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmm Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnngggggggggg
Family Portrait all in traditional Chinese clothes.
Altogether 13 siblings and their families. They were once so poor, to the point they have to starve and have one meal per day. They struggled to very, very hard to succeed. And here we are, living in bliss thanks to their sacrifices. We hope to bring smiles across their faces for the things we do. :)
Everyone was on cloud 9. Not to mention all my uncles and aunts. They're so drunk and high. After Kim's chased us, they crashed (well, literally) Papparich for their so called second round. But in the end got chased again and they were still reluctant to return home. Of course we not-so-kiddy-grown-up kids had to drive them back home. Though usually it should be the other way round.
It was already 12.10 sth and I got to know that my friends were still at Vanilla's house. I persuaded my mummy and my parents fetched me to her house. By the time I came back it was already 2 sth hahaha it was my first time reaching home so late, or should I say early. xD
Day 2
Woke up to the start of my door being flung open by daddy and a high-pitched "Goooooood morninggggggg" screech. It took both my parents to yank me out of bed.
We reached popo's house (grandma from mummy's side) at Linggi in the morning. My popo's house used to be surrounded by the woods. But last year they chopped off all the rubber trees as the rubber trees doesn't fetch good money. They planted palm oil trees instead. The trees are still going and it looks like it takes quite some time before it can be sold off.
That explains why I don't take my day 2 cny ootd in the perfect atmosphere of the woods anymore.
Throwback 2013!
I think I changed a lil since. But puberty didn't strike me hard enough yet. Hahahaha.
I spent the wholeeeeeee afternoon playing monopoly deal with two of my cousins. I taught them how to play it and they got so addicted to them game as I am. Hahahah. I bought a deck of my own at Popular the other day. Glad I brought it back or else I think I'd sleep through the whole afternoon.
We had a lil bbq at night tooooo. Unfortunately I was too lazy to fish out my phone to take photos so I just took one.
Wooden shack behind me. There's still really kampung feel back at my popo's house but I don't dislike it. It's somewhat heart warming to be there. :D
Dayyyyy 3
We had to wake up early around 7 sth to go Tanjung Sepat for breakfast and a lil sight seeing. Mummy couldn't join us as she was at Malacca visiting an aunt there. Daddy said I've been to Tanjung Sepat when I was small.
I didn't understand why did we went through the trouble to go all the way there for breakfast. My cousins mentioned something about the shop's famous seafood bak kut teh. True enough, it was packed and we had to wait to be seated. The food was overall quite good! But it wasn't cheap at all for a small town shop. ><
We went to somewhere nearby after that. Including the infamous lover's bridge, the mushroom shop thingy and a rural place to buy.. keropok. Lol.
The decorations were amazing! <3
Skin was burning under the hot sun. Anyways, I finally got to try this pose! On the lover's bridge on top of that. Hahahah xD if you're wondering who it was, it's Mel.
We came back in the afternoon. Mel came over to my house after that to finish her game. She had been staying up till 5 am and 3 am those days to finish it. I was studying my chemistry practical. TT We also went to Blue Lagoon late night to have supper. The porridge and the nasi lemak there was superb. Especially their sambal, omg, the sambal was like a gift descended from heaven.
Day 4
Bai nian with friends day! Woohoo!
This year we didn't take any selfies at all. Which is very weird, yes. The guys spent most of their time gambling. I too, gambled a little and managed to win a few bucks. Hahah. xD
We went to Xing Hua's house in the morning, then went to Erick's house, Jia Hao's house and my house. My parents bought some food and did bbq as our dinner. I got to know Eugene won RM355 while gambling at my house, omgggg. Too bad we didn't go as many houses as we did last year but overall it was still fun. Hehe. :D
Day 5
Back to Inti lol.
So this kinda sums up how I celebrated CNY in Year 2015!
xoxo
