The cover of the book

The cover of the movie

To start this blogpost, allow me to ask you this. What does "giveaways" means to you?

For some people, they'll be like "Nahh, you won't EVER have the chance to win it. With so many millions of people in this world, it'll be a miracle if you're chosen as the winner."

Well, does miracle exist? The answer varies, you see.

So on my fifth/ sixth attempt on joining a giveaway, I won. I actually won.

What was the prize?

A PAIR OF TICKETS TO "THE FAULT IN OUR STARS" MOVIE PREMIERES!!!!!

The Fault in Our Stars is like the best storybook / novel there is. THE BEST.

I still remember the story line and their small small converstaions in between as clear as day eventhough it's like 5 months after reading the book. I borrowed Ramya's book. I think it's time for me to go and get one for myself as this would be my all time favourite. My possessed treasure.

It all started on last Monday ( if I'm not mistaken ), 16th of June. One of my best friends - Venessa sent me a picture of Jessica ( my favourite blogger ) having a giveaway of TFIOS movie premiere tickets. The rules to win were quite simple. You just have to state which is you favourite line from the book and your reason for it. Ohh yea, your email too.

So what I wrote was this:

"You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, but you do have some say in who hurts you."
I personally think that this quote reflects the complete truth. Although you are bound to get hurt in some point in life, you still have the choice to choose who hurts you in the end. You decide who you want to be with and you gave them the ability to hurt you. In the end, it is all a mind game, no one can hurt you more than you yourself. This quote resonates with me from the moment my eyes came across it, and I set ut as my own reminder as to not give in to people that are unworthy of me doing so. ;D "

Pretty good ehh? Don't deny it. *Flips hair*

My instinct (playing the biggest part in my 17 years of life) stepped in again this time.

"Your are ought to win this."

But I had some confusion within me. Firstly, if I really won the tickets, how was I gonna go there? The venue was at GSC, Paradigm Mall, KL. Near Damansara. And what's worse? The movie starts at 9pm. It was a Tuesday, 24th of June and the next day was a schooling day.

Realizing that, the thought of deleting my comment came across my mind. But I didn't have the heart to that. Well it took me almost 45 minutes to actually come up with THAT perfect *cough* comment. Like heck I'd just give up on it.

I literally became the happiest girl when this happened:

Jessica used the quote I used for her own blogpost!!!!

That was when I was like "I'm so getting my tickets, gurrrllllll"

But no.

She chose 4 winners and I wasn't included. But I wasn't using instagram so I still didn't know then. Until Jessica tagged my name in one of her blogpost. THAT was when I knew this:

My instincts rocks, dude.

True enough, I won. I won the ticketssssssss!!

But this is also thanks to one of the winners who backed out the tickets for me 'cause she was living at Singapore and she wasn't free to drive all the way to KL to catch the movie.

Yes yes, I'm counting my lucky stars. ;D

I'd like to thank Jessica Chaw and Nuffnang for their generosity. All of this will not happen without them.

After so many days deciding how to go, who to follow and stuffs, I only got to decide on the day before the movie premieres. Feeling scared, I mustered up all my courage and asked my mom for permission.

Asking for mom's permission is the first on my list of the things I hate to do the most. Like seriously.

I got the email on Monday too.

This email, worths a billion times more than the other 999 emails I have / had.

Okay I'll skip a few parts here and there. Now, to 5pm, 24th of June!

I twitted about this before going to Vanilla's house.

Jessica replied to my tweet!! Gahhhhhhhhh!

I went to Vanilla's house, wearing a mint blue shirt, jeans shorts and a brown heels shoes thingy. If only I knew the actual names for all those. Chicks be like "Stilleto hills, pumps, kicks, platform hills" etc etc,

We departed around 5.50pm.

Based on my cousin's past experience of using Waze, I told Vanilla NOT to use it. But her dad went with the choice and I didn't talk back. ( I mean, how could I? ) But also I just wanna give a chance to this cute-looking app.

The lesson I'll never learn: Never judge a book by its cover.

We all paid the price, I guess.

Turning merry-go-round. Reaching the SAME roundabout for 45 MINUTES. Can you believe that?

We only managed to get there with Vanilla's brother, Vicky's help. By the time we reached there, it was already 8pm!!

We passed by Sunway Pyramid quite a few times. It's been ages since I went there. TT

Dear Waze,

I am not giving in to that cute smile of yours. Never.

According to Vanilla, Paradigm mall is a new shopping mall that was just opened last year. I find the mall nice as right when we stepped down from the car at the parking lot, immediately we saw guards going around with this mini car they use at golf clubs. When asked for direction to the main entrance, the guards were actually kind enough to invite us to hop on to the back of the mini car to give us a ride. But we didn't do that as we were short in time and I could actually see the entrance not very far away from the car.

The first thing we did was rushing up to the top most floor to retrieve our tickets. It was already 8.10pm and we still haven't have our dinner. Basically freaking out. But once we were there, there was like a longgg queue and no one was at the counter thing where you retrieve the tickets. So we decided to have our dinner first and rushed down to where Vanilla's dad was.

And guess what? ANOTHER QUEUE. Well duhh, that's KL. Who am I kidding.

We had our dinner at Sushi Zanmai.

And let me have this opportunity to tell you how absolutely PERFECT it was.

Now firstly, I've never been to Sushi King. No joke.

"What in the world?!?!"

Well because my mom doesn't like Japanese food that much, and it's not cheap. The only actual Japanese restaurant I went was Matsu at PD waterfront. And that was only once.

This makes me kinda sad as I'm all over Japanese stuffs. ESPECIALLY the food. Omg.

Photos taken from Google:
Sushi Zanmai at Paradigm Mall!

We ate this that day and HOLY CRAP. THIS IS DROP DEAD AMAZING. LIKE REALLY. GAHHHHH

Sometimes I wish Sushi can be a person, so that I could just marry it. This literally sent me to heaven.

There were also other foods we ate. All of it and I mean ALL OF THE FOOD WE ORDERED, taste so so so delicious. Like that tasty. You know, like that. Even the green tea ( ocha )!! Or maybe because I love tea, hahaha.

Photos that I took:
It's blurry D:  Anyways, the interior design!

Look at the dishes on the rail thingy~

Price list for the Sushi.

A clearer pic of the interior design

First selfie of the day!

Hee, my favourite of the night <3

Vanilla's unagi rice

My chicken rice.

As you can see in my chicken rice photo, I ate a few bites before taking the photo. Hahahah. That was because it was 8.43pm and I'm a very slow eater so I was scared I'll be late. TT

Achievement unlocked: Taking photos of food without drooling over it. Well kinda. Hahahha.

And again. I was at heaven man. HOW IN THE WORLD DID THEY MAKE THIS MASTERPIECE? This is a serious matter. I'm gonna plan for our marriage, Japanese food. Wait for me.

The service was super duper fast too despite being FULL HOUSE. Now this is what we all seek for. Hats off. Giving a 10/10 rating for this. I LOVE YOU SUSHI ZANMAI!

If I ever have the chance, I'd like to try out the new Japanese restaurant and also highly recommended by a few bloggers I know, Sakae Sushi. And then I'll do a full compare and contrast blog post on it.

We dashed to the toilet after the meal. The time was 9pm sharp. And we haven't retrieve our tickets yet. After going round in circles we managed to find the toilet. I was looking at the mirror checking at my braces when I saw a pretty girl going to the toilet I wanted to go right behind me. RIGHT BEHIND ME. And I was like wait, "WAS THAT JESSICA?!"

I remember by the way she dresses and her style. Soon after that, her mom came into the toilet. I saw selfies of Jessica with her mom on her blog before. ( This proves how loyal of a reader I am to her, hahahah )

I was in panic mode and immediately I fished out my phone waiting for her to come out. True enough, it was really her!!!!!!!

I was stuttering when I asked her " Erm, are you Jessica? " and she was like "Yea, and you are?" flashing a sweet smile across her face.

OMG, I DIED. She looks so so so so much different from her photos!! Now don't get me wrong, by this, I meant she looked absolutely stunningly gorgeous in real person that in photos. I swear.

I replied with "Err, I'm musiclover shuen, the one who won the giveaway" and she was like " Ohhh, hi!" I asked for a selfie and told her I love her blog and she thanked me in such a sweet manner I could just faint there and there. After that she told me "Come, let's go and enjoy the movie together."

Still can't get over the fast that it's real!! So pretty!

24th of June, the day I got starstruck. And it's all because of the fault in our stars.

We finally go our hands on the tickets!

These 2 pieces of papers are the most important papers than any other piece of papers.

I took seat number 10.
Selfie in cinema, take 1.

Take 2.

And the movie started.

I'm not gonna be a meanie and tell out any spoilers but just one thing. They cut out some scenes. To be more specific, the censored scene. ( Readers of TFiOS know what I mean ) It was so funny when everyone started to like "ehhhhhhhhh!!" when the scene got cut out, hahahah xDD

And this is how we looked like after the movie.

Probably couldn't see any difference in this photo due to the lighting. When I checked my reflection in my phone, it looked like I just applied a bright pink eye shadow. It was so obvious that I felt embarassed as there were like so many hot girls and cute guys around. TT

My comments about the movie:

It's sorrowful, yet beautiful. Mind-blowing, heart-warming. I didn't cry reading the book. ( I guess I'm the only one who doesn't ) but it's weird considering I'm such an emotional person. But I cried a bucket full of tear watching the movie. The best movie of the year. I really really enjoyed every single bit of it. Was so immersed into the movie.

Kudos to the producers for a job well done!

We reached home at 1am TT my mom was very very upset with me as she had to stayed up to open the doors for me. I'm sorry mummy. =(

I posted the photo of me and Jessica the next day and she commented on it! <3

<3

Managed to spot this photo on instagram and it got me mad over it. I want it so much! TT

Well, I guess that about it for this post. Phew! 2 hours of blogging. TT

If you want the best review for the movie do read this. A blogpost by Jessica. She did a splendid job writing it.

Special thanks to Vanilla and her daddy for fetching me all the way to and back. Goddess I love you! <3 ;D

xoxo.
