Inti Discovery Day - 8/3/2014

3/09/2014 06:20:00 AM

8/3/2014 ( Saturday )

I woke up around 6.40am, feeling excited that I'm finally going to Inti's discovery day that we had been talking for the past weeks. We were told to gather at the Kolej Vokasional near Pn Laila's house. I reached there at 7.25 thinking " I'm so dead, I'm late. " Turned out? I arrived earlier than others. Hahhaha.

Pn Ng was our teacher representative for the day. She's a new counselor in school. Majority of the students have arrived at 7.45am and we stood there waiting for the bus. ( As usual ) In the meantime, when girls have their smartphones with time, that's the time.

Me and cutie pie, Vanilla

Another cutie with dimples, yummy

Hahahha, kah lin showing off his dimples and acting cute xD

The 4 jokers and 2 cuties, the lady at the back is our other counselor.

There are actually a lot more photos but right now time doesn't permit me to do that as I'm sitting for my test reaaaallly soon. TT

The bus arrived at 8 sth, I couldn't really remember, 8.15am I suppose. ( Malaysians with their punctuality ) I wanted to sit with Pei Qin who was gonna join us at the school near her house but I ended up sitting with Jia Hao. The 7A+, 2A, 1A- genius. Hhahaha. He's also our class monitor.

On the bus, I connected my phone to a speaker Janson brought via my phone's bluetooth ( which I have never turned it on before ) and played Chrissy's cover of "Counting Stars" and "Timber" by Kesha and pitbull. Then, Jia hao lend me his earphones to watch ep 16 of "You who came from the stars". I didn't mind watching the drama twice to be honest, hahah xD

These 2 with their never ending selfies.

Me and Jia Hao lol. Vanilla took it from behind. We were watching the drama that time, hahah

Before we knew it, we were already there. We didn't get to finish the drama. TT Oh well.

Anyways, we were given the Inti Discovery Day T-shirt. Size M was all out before I can take it. TT Then Jia Hao, with much much much consideration traded for a Size L T-shirt. Nevertheless, thank you! And sorry! Hahahha We got our tag before taking a group photo first and before going to the main hall.

Woohoo!

I signed up for the Law workshop because I was very very very uncertain whether I really have the interest and have what it takes to become one. Hhaha.

There were a lottttt of people yesterday. The hall was full! Amanda was the emcee of the day, the jokers of our school were head over heels for her. She asked us to log in to facebook, instagram and twitter to post our photos and status and hashtag #IntiIU and #IntiDiscoveryDay . I couldn't get to log in after 624602 attempts, so I gave up. Hhahha.

We were given 3 sandwiches and a packet of Soya Bean drink. After we changed into our given T-shirts, selfie time againnnn.

The one at the left is Pei Qin! Pretty isn't she? xD

I actually love love love yenmy's hair in this photo. It looks so much like Si ye cao / Joyce Chu's hair when she was having green highlight.

Look at the crowddddd.

Cool performance from the 24 Festive Drum club! I loved it =D

The one beside me is Eugene! Hahhaha I posted this photo on my instagram when I got home xD

Credits to: meeeeeeee

Another group photo! Gosh I look like a fishball in this. TT The guy beside Eugene is Johnson.

Jia Hao as the selfie-man.

Vanilla Ong. The selfie queen. She spams my phone with selfies like THESE. And she'll hit me if I delete them. What should I do? TT

My son, Yu Quan on the left!

We were given a talk on pre-U programmes, like what pre-U programmes are there and a summary on what is that particular programme about. And after a 30 minutes talk on it, we were divided according to the numbers written at the backs of our name tags. Guess what number I got out of 37 people in our school? Yes, the lucky seven. Was overjoyed this morning when I saw it. <3 The only schoolmate who had the same number as me was Shi Nan. Hhaha.

To be honest, I don't really enjoy the station games. I sufferedddddd through it. The game had this concept of "moving like a caterpillar" which requires us participants to put our legs onto the lap of the person in front (which is a total stranger, regardless gender also) and to move in a line going through obstacles then turn back to out starting point. I'll say what bothered me.
1) I was shy to put my legs on the lap of the Indian guy in front of me because I'm very heavy and I'm afraid he'll mind. TT ( But luckily he wasn't, he was a very good guy =] )
2) My butt aches a lot
3) My leg muscles are cramped
etc etc.
But it's a good game because it emphasis on teamwork so yeah. There were pros and cons to this game. But I personally think that the cons were more than the other. TT

We had our lunch after the games. ( A packet of rice with chicken, a little bit of veggie and a small tiny miserable piece of egg. ) It was nice but the chicken was a little hard for me to cut. >< Then again it was very tasty so I take back my complaint. xD We were directed to a lecture hall ( or an exam hall, not sure ) to be seated. We waited for sooo so so so sooooooo long to move on to my purpose of coming today -  the workshops. And this is when we finally got to go.

Me and Wah Jue Wei and two other girls from our school signed up for law. We were brought to a moot court and it was like a mini version of a court where you see on TVs and it was so so cool. Hhahah. The students there were divided into 3, Superman, Tarzan and Frankenstein. They gave us the scripts and the selected ones for the team took on the many different to play on. The first group was Tarzan. Our group, the Superman was the second. Frankenstein group didn't get to act as most of the Muslims went to surau for their prayers. I took on the role as "Crown prosecuter". I always wanted to cross-examine someone. xD I even got to wear the black robe too!
The winner was the Tarzan group but it's okay, I'm still happy for the experience. xD I even got to take back the script with me! Hahah.
The moot court

The Tarzan group acting. The judges on the top seats. The clerks in the middle. Defendants on the left and crown prosecutors on the right. The witness stand is infront on the defendants and a few other people who are to give suggestions ( forgot the name ) sits beside the preosecutors.

The half-emptied hall.

We got our prizes and headed back to the hall. We all exchange what we did in our respective workshops. The It workshop taught them how to photoshop. The physiotheraphy taught them about balancing and BMI. The engineers had to throw an egg off from a 5 storey building without breaking it with provided materials. The business students have to design a toy I think >< The coolest workshop that I feel is the Mass Communication workshop. You can actually wear the headphones and talk to the mic inside a room where they used for recordings or for radio stations when they go "On Air". Arhhh, soo cool. xD The second coolest workshop I feel is the biotechnology workshop. They actually made out a crime scene, with a corpse ( should be a fake one ) and blood splattered over the body. The students are required to collect the blood for the DNA test. The third coolest workshop? Law. The workshop that I attended, hahah. xD There were also the Traditional Chinese Medicine workshop but I'm not sure what they did for that.

Dr Sia gave us a motivation speech. We were given 3 cards and were asked 3 different questions for us to answer on each card.
1) What do you want to achieve it the future?
2) What will you do and how will you achieve it?
3) What will you tell your future self in the next 5 years.
We were all quiet as we were having deep thoughts about it. We really really thought through it. The background music "Kiss the rain" and "River flows in you" by Yiruma helped to turn the atmosphere into a emotional and sad one. Kah Lin cried, for what I'm not sure, he hugged Janson, kissed Jia hao on the cheeks ( hahahah ) and hugged Ang saying that they'll reunite and be together no matter what. That was quite cute and touching, hahah. =]
They were acting like this when "kiss the rain" was playing. Hahhaha.
The event ended at 4pm like scheduled. Then we headed back to PD again.

Before we went out of the hall.
Finally a selfie with my son! Hahah
And we all shouted "Amanda, saranghaeyo!" to the emcee of the day and she replied "Dae, saranghaeyo! See you all very soon." ( not sure of the Korean spellings) Hahhaah

And so we headed on the journey back to home.

I had a lot of fun yesterday. It was a very great event! I glad I went. Thanks to alllllll the authorities who made the event and made everything happened for us! Hahhaha

With love. <3
